Tempest Rising: A Promising RTS with a Nostalgic Twist
2 min read
Tempest Rising is an upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game that pays homage to the Command & Conquer series. While fans eagerly await news on another Command & Conquered Remastered Collection, Tempest Rising offers a taste of the old-school base-building RTS gameplay that we all love. The game currently has a free demo available on Steam until August 28th, allowing players to get a firsthand experience of what it has to offer.
In Tempest Rising, players choose to play as one of three factions, each vying for control of the planet’s scarce resource, Tempest. The demo primarily focuses on the Global Defence Force’s campaign as they battle against the Tempest Dynasty for world domination. As expected from an RTS game, players must strategically position their troops and unleash destruction upon their enemies.
What sets Tempest Rising apart is its nostalgic 90s vibe, reminiscent of classic games of that era. The latest trailer showcases the game’s impressive vehicle units, including tanks armed with flamethrowers. The graphics have been updated for a modern audience while still capturing the essence of the RTS games of old.
Although the trailer does not provide much insight into the gameplay mechanics, interested players can refer to the 20-minute gameplay trailer released in April for a more in-depth look. Tempest Rising holds great promise and is definitely worth keeping an eye on for RTS enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced for Tempest Rising, but those interested can find more information and try out the demo on Steam.
