New Shiny Pocket Monsters Released in Pokemon GO

During the GO Fest 2023 event, many old Pocket Monsters in Pokemon GO are finally getting their shiny releases. The shiny forms of Petilil and Dewpider were introduced during the Osaka and London leg of the event. Now, with the start of the event in New York City, shiny Skrelp and shiny Golett will also be available in the game. However, players in other parts of the world will have to wait a bit longer.

For the global playerbase, the shiny Skrelp will be available during the Noxious Swamp event. This event will begin at 10 am local time on August 19, 2023, and run until 8 pm local time on August 22, 2023. Players will have the opportunity to encounter shiny Skrelp in the Poison Swamp habitat.

To increase your chances of finding shiny Skrelp during the GO Fest 2023 event in New York City, make sure to explore the Poison Swamp habitats where Poison and Dragon-type Pokemon are spawning in large numbers. Ticket-holders will have a higher chance of encountering shiny Skrelp. If you don’t have a ticket, you can boost your chances using an item like Incense to increase the overall number of spawns in your vicinity.

During the Noxious Swamp event, there are two ways for global players to get shiny Skrelp. The first is through wild encounters. You simply have to explore the game’s overworld and click on every Skrelp you see on the map. The odds of finding a shiny Skrelp during this event are nearly 1-in-512.

The second way is through Field and Timed Research. By completing these research tasks, you can encounter Skrelp, and there is a possibility of encountering a shiny variant. Additionally, the Timed Research during this event will contain raid-centric tasks, offering exciting raid opportunities for Xerneas, Yveltal, and Mega Salamence.

To obtain the shiny Dragalge, you must evolve a shiny Skrelp using 50 Skrelp Candy. Evolution is currently the only way of obtaining this rare Poison and Dragon-type Pokemon.
