MYEG and Beitou IT Innovation Collaborate to Provide Secure Cross-Border Credentials Verification Services
2 min read
MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG) and China’s Guangxi Beitou IT Innovation Technology Investment Group Co., Ltd. (Beitou IT Innovation) have partnered to offer cross-border credentials verification services using the Zetrix blockchain. The collaboration aims to digitalize vital documents, including government-issued identity credentials, and tackle document fraud.
The partners conducted a public demonstration at the China-ASEAN Expo, showcasing an application that allows Chinese nationals to obtain digital driving licenses as verifiable credentials. These digitalized documents can be stored in the Zetrix blockchain wallet and presented anywhere in the world, providing convenience and proof of identity.
The digital driving licenses on the blockchain can be verified in real-time, offering a secure method to confirm their authenticity. Unlike physical documents that can be easily forged, digital credentials on the blockchain are tamper-proof and trustworthy. This is particularly important for credentials like driving licenses, which are often used as a form of secondary identity documentation.
In addition to driving licenses, MYEG and Beitou IT Innovation plan to digitalize and verify various types of documents that currently exist only in physical form. This will simplify customer onboarding processes and transactional services while ensuring safety and security.
MYEG’s Zetrix blockchain, which hosts the international supernode of China’s national Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure and Facility, enables cross-border issuance and verification of credentials. This collaboration aims to streamline cross-border economic and trade processes, especially between China and the rest of the world.
Through this partnership, MYEG continues to position itself as a pioneer in digitalization and innovation. They are actively utilizing blockchain technology to revolutionize various industries and enhance the delivery of government services.
