Mercedes-AMG has revealed a limited edition SL63 variant called the Manukatur Big Sur at this year’s Monterey Car Week. The convertible showcases Mercedes’ customization program, Manukatur, and features a unique appearance package inspired California’s iconic Pacific Coast Highway.
The SL63 Manukatur Big Sur stands out with its exclusive Orange Flame Metallic finish, inspired the breathtaking sunsets of the region. Chrome trim, a black soft top, and gloss black 21-inch wheels with matching calipers accentuate the richness of the hue.
The interior of the SL63 Manukatur Big Sur is equally impressive. It boasts hand-stitched black and red Nappa leather seats with a special diamond pattern and orange contrast stitching. The center console, dashboard, and door cards also feature touches of Orange Flame Metallic to complement the exterior. Furthermore, the cabin is equipped with Burmeister’s high-end 3D Surround Sound audio system.
Although the SL63 Manukatur Big Sur does not come with any mechanical upgrades, it is based on the fully loaded version of the convertible. It is powered AMG’s potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, generating 577 horsepower and 590 ft-lbs of torque. With a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Additional features include a front-axle lift system, Active Ride Control suspension, and Dynamic Plus package.
Mercedes plans to offer the SL63 Manukatur Big Sur for sale exclusively in the US and in limited quantities. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the model is expected to start above the standard version’s $183,000 starting price.
