South Korea’s KT Corp. has announced a partnership with Singapore Post (SingPost) to enhance logistics efficiency using artificial intelligence (AI). The memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two companies aims to optimize digital logistics in specific regions of Singapore.
The initial focus of the partnership will be a pilot program that employs KT’s proprietary AI transportation platform, the Logistics Intelligence Suite for Freight Optimization (LIS’FO). This platform utilizes AI-driven algorithms to predict and calculate the most efficient transportation routes and loading configurations. By implementing LIS’FO, SingPost’s transportation metrics have shown that the operational driving distance can be reduced 27% and the number of required operating vehicles can be decreased 15%.
SingPost, as a state-run postal and logistics service in Singapore, handles a significant amount of logistics big data annually. The partnership with KT will leverage this data to create a successful collaborative paradigm in Singapore. Both companies see unlimited opportunities to enhance logistics efficiency through this collaboration.
By streamlining transportation routes and optimizing logistics operations, AI can significantly improve the efficiency of logistics processes. This partnership between KT Corp. and SingPost is a step towards utilizing AI technologies to enhance logistics in the specific regions of Singapore.
