Sick: Kevin Williamson’s COVID-Era Slasher Now Available on Digital and DVD

The highly anticipated slasher film, Sick, written Kevin Williamson, the mastermind behind Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, has made its debut. After its premiere on the streaming service Peacock in January, Sick has now been released on Digital and DVD.

Sick takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic and follows the story of two friends who decide to quarantine at a remote lake house. Little do they know that they will soon be stalked a masked maniac. Directed John Hyams, known for Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning and “Black Summer,” the film has been described as a “lean, mean, and wickedly timely slasher.”

Fans of Kevin Williamson’s work will find plenty of callbacks to his most famous creations, particularly in the opening scene where college student Tyler is harassed threatening texts before he falls victim to the killer. Sick serves as a welcome home party for Williamson, embracing the elements that have made his previous films so beloved genre enthusiasts.

The cast of Sick includes Gideon Adlon (Blockers, The Craft: Legacy), Bethlehem Million (And Just Like That), Marc Menchaca (The Outsider, Ozark), and Jane Adams (Twin Peaks, Poltergeist, Hacks). Each actor brings their talent and skill to their respective roles, enhancing the suspense and terror of the film.

Sick is a collaboration between Blumhouse and Miramax, two powerhouses in the horror genre. With Williamson’s expertise in crafting intricate and thrilling stories, paired with the talented direction of John Hyams, Sick promises to deliver a chilling and memorable viewing experience for horror fans.
