The Defense Logistics Agency Focuses on Digital Transformation

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) recently organized a two-day senior executive service offsite in Battle Creek, Michigan as part of its Digital-Business Transformation program. The goal of this program is to gather senior leaders and discuss how to advance the adoption of emerging technologies to improve operations and processes.

The event, known as the D-BX SES Offsite, took place at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek. DLA Vice Director Brad Bunn emphasized that this was a unique opportunity for the agency to come together and modernize its business processes. He highlighted the importance of active senior leader engagement across the entire organization, including the enterprise headquarters and major support commands.

The D-BX program consists of 20 initiatives aimed at advancing the development of foundational technologies to support operational procedures and enhance efficiency. One of the key initiatives involves the launch of a digital core comprised of information technology platforms. This digital core aims to foster collaboration, improve security, automate processes, and increase scalability.

One significant feature of the digital core is a single sign-on portal, designed to enhance supplier interactions and provide agency users with real-time access to lead times and engineering data. This portal will streamline communication and improve the overall efficiency of the agency’s operations.

The Defense Logistics Agency’s focus on digital transformation demonstrates its commitment to embracing emerging technologies and leveraging them to drive improvements in its operations. By incorporating digital solutions and fostering collaboration, the agency aims to enhance efficiency and better serve its stakeholders.
