Sightsavers Seeks Digital Campaigner for Disability Rights Policy Change

Sightsavers is currently recruiting an enthusiastic digital campaigner to support the delivery of their policy campaign and contribute to national and global policy change on disability rights. The role will involve utilizing digital campaigning platforms to communicate with supporters worldwide.

At an exciting time for the organization, Sightsavers has played a significant role in achieving the publication of disability strategies the United Nations and the UK government. Additionally, they have made important progress in achieving gender equality on the UN disability committee and have called for meaningful commitments at the Global Disability Summit.

As the digital campaigner, your responsibilities will include supporting the day-to-day operation of digital campaigning platforms, websites, and emails. You will also work with other organizations to identify digital campaigning opportunities and assist in developing strategic campaigning tools and materials. Recruitment, management, and mobilization of Sightsavers supporters, as well as the design, creation, and management of email journeys, will also be part of your role.

The ideal candidate will be organized, action-oriented, and confident in making decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence diverse audiences are essential. The candidate should have demonstrable knowledge and experience of working with various campaigning techniques, online/offline mobilization, and recruitment. Experience with digital campaigning tools and platforms, such as Engaging Networks, is required, along with the ability to build, analyze, and send emails. Knowledge and experience of campaigning for policy change, as well as a commitment to equality of opportunities for people with disabilities, are desirable.
