Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Revealed in Warzone Event

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially revealed in a Warzone event today. The latest installment in the long-running franchise once again pits Captain Price against his greatest adversary, the Russian-born terrorist Vladimir Makarov. While no multiplayer information was provided during the event, some key details about the campaign were unveiled.

One of the major areas shown in the trailer was a Russian gulag, reminiscent of the one seen in Modern Warfare 2. The setting also includes some arctic operations and various Western cities. The trailer showcased Price and his team navigating through a modern underground, engaging in combat as enemies target innocent civilians. The iconic characters Task Force 141 — Ghost, Soap, and Gaz — were briefly featured, as well as Farah, a resistance fighter and old ally of Price.

Kate Laswell, Price’s CIA handler, reveals that the war will take place on a global scale, indicating Makarov’s plan for widespread destruction. While Makarov doesn’t make a full appearance in the trailer, his presence is felt, hinting at the intensity of the upcoming game.

During the event, players participated as members of Graves’s Shadow Company, gathering dangerous chemical compounds from an Al Mazrah bunker. However, unbeknownst to the players, Makarov’s men had already infiltrated the team and made off with the chemicals.

Despite limited information on the gameplay mechanics, it was noted that the game will feature elements of stealth, including an infiltration of the gulag and underwater operations. There will also be a return of the night-vision sections that were popularized in Modern Warfare 2019. The trailer highlights Price’s failure to prevent a pair of missile launches, reminiscent of a key moment in Call of Duty 4.

Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled for release on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Series X, and PC on November 10, 2023.
