Everything You Need to Know About Dragalge in Pokemon GO

Dragalge, the latest addition to the Skrelp family, is now available in Pokemon GO. If you’re lucky enough to catch a shiny variant of Skrelp or have one with good IVs, you may be considering adding Dragalge to your competitive roster. To help you make the most of this new creature, we will guide you through the best moves for Dragalge in both PvE and PvP battles.

Dragalge is a dual Dragon and Poison-type Pokemon and has a maximum Combat Power (CP) of 2,694 at level 50. Its main weaknesses are Dragon, Ground, Ice, and Psychic-type creatures, while it is resistant to Bug, Electric, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Poison, and Water-type attacks.

In terms of moves, Dragalge has access to several fast and charged moves in Pokemon GO. Its fast moves include Dragon Tail, Acid, and Water Gun, while its charged moves include Outrage, Aqua Tail, Hydro Pump, and Gunk Shot.

For PvE battles, Dragalge is not the best raid attacker, but it can prove useful as a gym defender. The optimal moveset for offensive purposes is Dragon Tail as the fast move and Outrage as the charged move. Both moves are of the Dragon type, giving Dragalge a Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) benefit. On the defensive side, Dragon Tail remains the best fast move, paired with Aqua Tail as the charged move. This combination is effective against Rock-type attackers frequently used in gyms.

When it comes to PvP battles, Acid is not recommended as it does not provide good type coverage. Instead, Dragon Tail and Water Gun are the preferred choices for fast moves. For charged moves, it is advisable to have a cheap shield-baiting move such as Aqua Tail, along with a stronger damage dealer like Outrage.

So, whether you’re battling in gyms or participating in PvP battles, understanding Dragalge’s moveset and typing effectiveness is crucial for maximizing its potential. Catching a shiny Skrelp or obtaining a high IV Dragalge can give you an edge in competitive play.
