Aquanow, a leading digital assets infrastructure provider, has announced the launch of the AQN Digital Ventures Fund. Managed its investment management subsidiary AQN Digital, the fund aims to support the world’s most disruptive blockchain technologies and provide investors with early-stage access to promising founders and businesses.
The AQN Digital Ventures Fund has already invested in seven portfolio companies, including BoomFi and Mash, and plans to make one to two additional investments per month in the future. The fund seeks to invest in companies that address problems in various parts of the technology stack for financial service businesses building in the crypto space.
According to Phil Sham, co-founder and CEO of Aquanow, the fund’s goal is to accelerate the vision of creating scalable crypto systems that will become a vital part of modern financial services. The fund aims to support companies and projects that can complement Aquanow’s core business and expertise in digital asset infrastructure.
One of the investments made the fund was in the digital currency payment processing platform BoomFi, which raised $3.8 million in a seed round in June. Another investment was in Lightning network startup Mash, which helps content creators earn money from their online publications and raised $6 million in a seed round.
The launch of the AQN Digital Ventures Fund showcases Aquanow’s strong brand equity and its position as a leader in powering financial service providers with crypto liquidity and infrastructure solutions. The company has recently received initial approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), indicating its rapid expansion in the Middle East.
