Move Digital Sdn Bhd, the digital arm of Capital A Bhd, has recently undergone a rebranding and changed its name to Move Digital Sdn Bhd. This strategic move highlights the company’s commitment to the travel industry. Move Digital operates two businesses: airasia Superapp and BigPay. In the near future, airasia Superapp will also undergo a brand refresh and be renamed “airasia move” as part of the ongoing transformation.

The rebranding aims to provide airasia Superapp users with seamless access to both travel and financial services on a single platform. The integration of BigPay’s financial features, such as balance display, top-up, and payments, will further enhance the value proposition of airasia move as the preferred travel app. The goal is to create an enriching user experience and strengthen the synergy between the two businesses.

Over the past two years, airasia Superapp has become a popular one-stop travel platform, offering convenience and value through end-to-end booking experiences. BigPay, on the other hand, has established itself as an innovative fintech provider. In the second quarter of this year, airasia Superapp recorded 15 million monthly active users, with a 10% increase in new users per quarter. BigPay also experienced a 16% year-on-year growth in carded users during the same period.

Furthermore, Move Digital is focused on achieving positive growth in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA). BigPay is aiming to break even 2024. To support these goals, Nadia Omer has been appointed as the CEO of airasia move, effective October 26, 2023. She will take over from Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil, who will continue to lead airasia Superapp in the interim.
